It has come to our attention that an individual is impersonating a Cogent Law Group attorney and falsely claiming to be affiliated with our firm as part of a fraudulent scheme targeting members of the immigrant community.



This individual is using the name “Joe Owen Cortez” along with the email address j.owen.c@cogentlaw.us and the phone number (339) 230-5440 to contact individuals, particularly Spanish-speaking immigrants, and offer fraudulent legal services, including expedited work permits and green card assistance. Victims have reported receiving fake USCIS documents and being pressured to make payments through unofficial channels.

·       Cogent Law Group does not solicit immigration services or payments through WhatsApp or unsecured platforms.

·       All official correspondence from Cogent Law Group will come from verified contact information listed on our website.
